A pendant made with a reworked silver Walking Liberty half dollar coin from 1943. The coin has been delicately cut away to create a relief showcasing the letters Liberty and the figure of Liberty holding boughs of laurel and oak (symbolic of victory) while walking towards a sunrise. The reverse of the coin features an eagle, although due to the cutaway this is not as easy to recognize as the obverse side. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. These Walking Liberty coins were produced between 1916 and 1947. A silver bail is soldered to the very top of the coin to fashion it into a pendant, and the pendant is paired with an 18” sterling silver paperclip chain, which fastens with a spring ring style clasp.
