A delicately engraved silver locket necklace depicting a swan floating on the water with some cattails in the background. This locket was manufactured during the Victorian era, a period of jewelry known as the “aesthetic movement,” a time known for rejection of previous design tenants in favor of artistic and simple, heartfelt designs. Swans are a timeless and elegant symbol of beauty and grace, as well as love and loyalty - they are known to mate for life with their partners. This locket has interior space for two photos of a small keepsake and comes paired with an 18” sterling silver paperclip chain, which fastens with a spring ring style clasp.

Locket measures 27.9mm tall (including bail) and 17.3mm wide.

Excellent condition. One small indentation in the metal at the front of the locket (see photos.)
