Ruby and Pearl Earrings

The perfect, slightly elevated, everyday pearl earrings. Each earring consists of a yellow gold post element which features a bright reddish pink round shaped synthetic ruby gemstone held in a bezel setting. Below this, a part of the same post element, is set a cultured white pearl. The pearls are a lovely white color with warm, slightly golden overtones and medium luster which is a perfect contrast to the radiant rubies. The earrings come with friction backs. Prior to the advent of the pearl culturing industry in the early 20th century, pearls were the rarest and most highly valued gem on earth - hundreds of years ago, they were considered more precious than diamonds!
