Private Order for M. Alnæs

Private order for two items:

Item 1: 

A halo of 14 karat gold wire which has been shaped into a circle (or omega shape.) Minimalist is the essence here, of course, but there is also a lot of thoughtful genius in the design. Sitting at the collar, this necklace can suspend a favorite pendant (or several!) or be worn alone. The clasp is fashioned from the ends of the wire, which have had a ball-cap added, along with a twisted design allowing them to link together as if holding hands. This necklace has a tremendous presence and nice weight - hearty, but not too heavy to be uncomfortable when worn. Made by James Avery (marked.)

Measures 15.5" around when fastened (this will sit high and close on the neck.) Wire is 1.6mm thick.

Item 2:

A gorgeous and generously sized oval-shaped lapis lazuli cabochon is centered in a hearty and ornamental 18 karat gold setting. The final result is a simply stunning ring that appears plucked from history. Lapis lazuli is a hard stone gem known for its vivid, deep blue hue. This example contains lapis’ best known inclusions: pyrite and calcite. The way the inclusions display on this jewel - scattered silver pinpoints of pyrite and soft faded “clouds” of calcite - gives this lapis the beautiful impression of a night sky. The gem is set within a bezel with a wide gold ring surrounding, which is accented by a golden rope border. Each shoulder of the ring’s mounting reaches up to cradle the gem, and this modified cathedral style setting is evocative of Etruscan artifacts. The ring’s band is a half-round style with a high luster polish.

Central lapis cabochon measures 17.0mm tall and 9.0mm wide; bezel framing lapis measures 3.0mm all around. Setting rises 8.3mm off the finger. At back of ring, narrowest part of ring shank measures 2.4mm.

Ring size 5.75 / UK L 1/2. If needed, this ring may be sized either up or down a few sizes by your jeweler.
