Pearl and Gold Hoop Earrings

A lovely pair of 10k karat gold hoop earrings, complete with dangling, removable pearl drops. These petite, huggie-style vintage hoops have a slightly elongated shape and make a nice everyday earring with a small but impactful profile. Pearls are genuine drop-shaped cultured pearls, which complement the shape of the gold hoops. They dangle from the earrings by gold caps which are secured to the top of the pearls. The pearls are well-matched, with a white body color, good luster and slight pink/peach overtones. The earrings secure by a hinged ear-wire that fastens in a U-shaped catch. Prior to the advent of the pearl culturing industry in the early 20th century, pearls were the rarest and most highly valued gem on earth - hundreds of years ago, they were considered more precious than diamonds!
