Pearl and Diamond Drop Earrings

Two pearls and a diamond comprise each half of this dazzling pair of earrings. A post-style 14 karat yellow gold setting holds the first pearl, which is round and white with rosy overtones and bright luster. Below this dances a bright round brilliant cut diamond in a wide yellow gold bezel setting. A drop pearl of color, luster and orient matching the first completes the earring. These earrings come with a pair of 14k gold friction backs. 

I’m of the mind that pearls are classic (of course) but can also be fun, youthful and unexpected. These, to me, are a great example of this idea in action: they are equally suitable worn to work or a formal event or around town running errands. Prior to the advent of the pearl culturing industry in the early 20th century, pearls were the rarest and most highly valued gem on earth - hundreds of years ago, they were considered more precious than diamonds! These are a lovely staple jewel for any collection.
