Onyx and Gold Ring

Statement jewel of dreams! This beautiful vintage ring features a large and lovely black onyx cabochon, bezel set in a yellow gold setting and flanked with evocative floral details (I believe they are intended to depict two Egyptian lotus flowers) on either shoulder. These cleverly detailed shoulders meet the ring shank, a classic half-round band polished to a high luster. Onyx is a member of the agate family, a “cousin” (if you will) of carnelian, jasper, agate, bloodstone and sardonyx.

Onyx cabochon measures 27mm tall and 8mm wide. Top gallery (including floral shoulders) measures 27.8mm tall and 17.4mm wide. Setting rises 4.2mm off the finger. At back of ring, narrowest part of ring shank measures 1.3mm.

Ring size 6.25 / UK M 1/2. If needed, this ring may be sized either up or down a few sizes by your jeweler.
