Koh-I-Noor Garden Green Brush

A soft toothbrush is one of my favorite tools for cleaning jewelry, and these are the ones I personally use and recommend.

Koh-I-Noor is a historic Italian maker of finely crafted brushes whose story began in 1930, when the Scavini family began importing toothbrushes with beautiful celluloid handles from the Grüneberg factory in Czechoslovakia. Italian production followed, and the company has continued making its brushes in Italy for generations.

The Classic 820 is handmade with a cellulose-acetate handle derived from cotton, a material prized for its warm feel and naturally polished finish. Soft bristle options make these particularly lovely for delicate work.

I use these brushes, along with warm water and a gentle soap, to gently work around settings, under stones and into the little places a polishing cloth can't reach. It is an easy way to remove the everyday accumulation of lotion, oils and dust that can make even beautiful jewelry look dull.

Beautiful enough to keep beside the sink, and useful enough to earn a permanent place in your jewelry box.
