Knotted Pearl Necklace

A lovely vintage strand of cultured pearls, knotted on silk cord with a white gold clasp. These pearls are a terrific size and have a wonderful warm hue; a color that could be described as “creamy pink,” with slightly iridescent overtones. Well-matched in both size and color, with a pale pink body color, good luster and cream/gold overtones. Knotted on matching cream colored silk cord and finished with a 14 karat white gold fishhook clasp. Prior to the advent of the pearl culturing industry in the early 20th century, pearls were the rarest and most highly valued gem on earth - hundreds of years ago, they were considered more precious than diamonds! A pearl necklace remains a perfect staple piece for every jewelry collection.
