Jade and Gold Ring

The heart of this gorgeous ring is a polished oval jade cabochon in mottled hues of white and bright green. The name for this variety of jade is “moss-in-snow,” a variety coveted and prized by collectors. The appearance of the gemstone’s body truly resembles its moniker, with bright green and white color patches that offset and complement each other beautifully. Jade is a mineral known for its excellent toughness (resistance to breakage) due to its structure composed of interlocking small crystals; this composition yields a very durable gem material ideal for daily wear.

The ring setting is gorgeous, crafted from a 20 karat (or 85%) gold alloy, with the rich, lustrous hue one can expect from such a high karat of gold. The jade cabochon is held in a North-East-South-West fashion between claw-style prongs. The shoulders of the ring feature a crisp and geometric metalwork accents. The ring features Chinese hallmarks as well as the marking “850” indicating 20k gold alloy.

Jade cabochon measures 13mm wide and 20mm tall. Setting rises 7.3mm off the finger. At back of ring, narrowest part of ring shank measures 2.3mm.
