The lightest green jadeite jade carving in the form of an apple, with lovely texture and translucence, is accented by a 14 karat yellow gold stem, leaf and bail. The pendant is strung on a 14 karat yellow gold box style chain, which fastens with a spring ring style clasp. In ancient Greece, apples were symbols of love, beauty, fertility and prosperity. Jade is a mineral known for its excellent toughness (resistance to breakage) due to its structure composed of interlocking small crystals.
