A lovely vintage ring featuring a vivid green tourmaline surrounded by a diamond halo. This ring is beautiful from every angle, with a buttercup style gallery supporting and lifting up the central gemstone cluster. Fashioned from 18 karat gold, it features hallmarks indicating it was produced by goldsmith Steele and Dolphin and assayed in Birmingham in 1963. The tourmaline is cut in a round brilliant style and the diamonds number in ten and are single cut. Tourmaline is my favorite gemstone, coming in a veritable rainbow of colors. Green tourmalines are often seen in vintage jewelry but rarely light up in the way that this one does.
