Gold Byzantine Necklace

A Byzantine chain is an intricate style of chain wherein each link of a necklace intersects four others. Sometimes called an “Etruscan chain” these chains are known for their masterful workmanship, heft and durability. They are both flexible and strong (and beautiful!) The design of this particular chain takes the motif to a new level: a graduated chain with the largest links in the center, tapering on either side towards the clasp. This chain is fashioned in 14k yellow gold and features a beautiful polished finish. It would look amazing layered with other necklaces - its 17” length is perfect to wear with slightly longer pendant necklaces. Fastens with a modified lobster clasp.

Widest segment of Byzantine chain measures 12.0mm wide and 5.0mm thick, narrowest measures 7.0mm wide and 2.6mm thick. Necklace is 17” long.
