A fabulous vintage solitaire ring featuring a lively red-orange pyrope-spessartine garnet in a basket style setting with four claw prongs. The ring is fashioned from 14 karat yellow gold. The bright color of this gem is quite lovely - not something you see in every garnet. If you wished, this could make a perfect alternative engagement ring.
Aristotle wrote circa 322 B.C.: “The garnet is a red gem, but not like the ruby; its red is much more like that of a flame ... It forms far in the east ... If correctly cut and polished, it will reveal all its beauty and perfection.” Garnet is the birthstone for the month of January and the gemstone of the second wedding anniversary.
