Carnelian and Gold Lotus Ring

With a beautiful, brushed-gold Egyptian motif, this gorgeous vintage ring is bound to be a favorite. The central portion of the ring features a single, elongated oval carnelian cabochon. The carnelian is bezel set and flanked on either side (shoulder) with a flourishing floral detail, evocative of an opening lotus flower. This floral detail has a brushed gold finish, off-set by a high polish on the rest of the ring. This ring is fashioned from 10 karat yellow gold. Carnelian is a member of the agate family, a “cousin” (if you will) of bloodstone, jasper, agate, onyx and sardonyx. It is treasured for its orangey-reddish hue, which makes a perfect complement to yellow gold when used in jewelry.

Carnelian cabochon measures 10mm tall and 5mm wide. Top gallery (including floral shoulders) measures 10.3mm tall and 12.8mm wide. Setting rises 4.9mm off the finger. At back of ring, narrowest part of ring shank measures 1.8mm.
