A striking antique ring featuring a flat, polished oval-shaped cabochon of black and white banded agate, set in 9 karat yellow gold. The black agate has a central white banded layer running through that is slightly curved, evocative of a bird in flight. This beautiful and unusual gem is held in an antique 9 karat yellow gold setting with lovely details: double claw prongs at the corner, a graceful gallery and cutaway details at the shoulders. Banded agate is one of my favorite hardstone gems; complementary to everything from diamonds and pearls to modern gold pieces, and perfect for the grown-up goth.

Oval agate in setting measures 11.8mm tall and 9.3mm wide. Setting rises 4.6mm off the finger. At back of ring, narrowest part of ring shank measures 1.6mm.

Ring size small 6.5 / UK N. If needed, this ring may be sized either up or down a few sizes by your jeweler.
