Art Deco Lapis Lazuli Necklace

A captivating jewel dating from the Art Deco era and of Chinese origin, this lavaliere necklace features a striking lapis lazuli pendant and drop, carved with ornate floral details. The pendant is set in a claw-pronged golden frame, while the drop hangs below with a delicate gold floral-accented bail. The chain is a long-and-short style Figaro chain of gold, with ornate milgrain details. Two “stations” along the chain feature a lapis bead with a seed pearl strung on either side. At the very back of the necklace near the clasp, the chain is a simple cable chain. Fastens with lobster-style clasp.

Chain portion of necklace with side stations measures 20” long, culminating at base in lapis pendant and drop. The pendant and drop measure a total of 3” long and .75” at the widest point. The total length of the necklace when worn is 25"

Excellent condition. Original clasp has been replaced with a modern gold lobster-style clasp.
