Art Deco Jade Earrings
Art Deco Jade Earrings
A beloved, classic and difficult to find style of earring. Dating from the Art Deco era and of Chinese origin, these earrings feature a round, carved piece of jade set in a claw-pronged golden frame, set to a gold screw back post, with a secondary element - an elongated, carved jade drop - balancing below from a golden wire bail. Jade is a mineral known for its excellent toughness (resistance to breakage) due to its structure composed of interlocking small crystals. This pair of earrings is fashioned from pieces of gorgeous dark green jade, with some striking mottled color variation. The carvings depict flowers and naturalistic reliefs. The 14 karat gold settings beautifully contrast the green of the jade. Comes complete with screw back posts, also of 14 karat gold. Altogether, these earrings are simply stunning and bound to become a favorite pair.
