Antique Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring

A gorgeous, sky-blue sapphire centers this bright and lively cluster ring. The sapphire’s hue is that of a cornflower, or what is often referred to as “Ceylon.” Framing the sapphire are eight juicy Old Mine cut diamonds in a halo/cluster. The gemstone gallery has a fantastic low profile and is comfortable for daily wear. All of the gems are securely prong set. The setting of the ring is 18 karat yellow gold, which has a lovely luster and glow. The shoulders of the ring have a slight knife-edge profile and the band a half-round shape. At one point in its lifetime, this ring was sized up from its original size. Sapphire is the birthstone for September and the anniversary gemstone for year 45. Diamond is the birthstone for April and the anniversary gemstone for 60th and 75th years.

Central "cluster" measures 9.5mm tall and 9.3mm across. Setting sits 3.9mm off the finger. Very back of ring shank measures 1.3mm.

Cornflower blue sapphire is a natural, earth-mined gem and measures 5.0mm tall and 4.8mm wide. This translates, by calculation, to 0.46 carats.

Diamonds number eight in total and are natural, earth-mined Old Mine cut, with a color and clarity range of G/H and VS2/SI1. Diamond total weight is approximately 0.50 carats.

Note: one of the accent diamonds has a chip; this can be viewed in the 11 o’clock position of the primary image for this listing. The price of the ring has been altered to reflect this. Another diamond has a “natural” - a small indentation in the surface of the diamond which is actually part of the rough diamond’s “skin” left by the diamond cutter to preserve weight.

Ring size 6.75 / UK N 1/2. If needed, this ring may be sized either up or down a few sizes by your jeweler.
