This antique ring features a Belcher style prong setting, fashioned in 14k gold, beautifully showcasing a solitaire Old European cut diamond. The diamond has that soulful presence for which antique diamonds are so beloved. The interior bears a script engraving: “E. A. B. To M. A. B. 6-14-16.”

Perfect as an accent to a ring stack, playing well with textured bands and signet rings, or a brightly colored gemstone like a ruby or emerald. “Belcher” refers to a style of claw setting where the prongs are carved directly from the mounting and the gem sits flush with the surface level of the setting. Common in antique and Victorian era jewelry, this style is also sometimes called a “buttercup” setting.
