Antique Amethyst and Gold Pin Set

A pair of sweet golden brooches fashioned in 14k gold, with a solitaire amethyst flush set at the center of each and a Greek key motif at each shoulder. Each pin features a slight flare at the ends, and a rich golden hue - although they are small, they have a mighty impact. Fastens at back with a tube hinge and "c" catch (indicating from design that it was produced during the Victorian era, between 1850 and 1890.) These type of pins are sometimes referred to as "bar pins" (for their shape) or "lingerie pins" or "baby pins" (as they were often used in the process of fastening delicate clothing.) This listing is for the set of two pins.
