A witch’s heart is one of the most captivating and unusual varieties of heart jewel. Immediately identifiable from the heart shape with a crooked end, witch’s hearts were meant as protective charms, dispelling bad spirits. In Scottish culture, these hearts are known as “Luckenbooth” hearts. Over time, as fear of witches abated from common culture, witch’s hearts came to mean someone who was “bewitched in love.” Pendant comes on a gold-filled chain, which fastens with a spring ring style clasp.
