Scarab jewels such as this necklace are terrific examples of the Egyptian revival aesthetic that has been wildly popular since the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922. Scarabs are symbols of transformation, protection, renewal and rebirth. They represent eternal life and the natural cycles of life: a poignant and important symbol imbued with the mystical symbolism of Egyptian-style decorative arts! 

This necklace features a large three dimensional scarab, with a nicely proportioned and detailed body. The reverse features a hieroglyphic design. The pendant and chain are fashioned from Sterling silver and the chain fastens with a lobster style clasp.

Pendant: 32.4mm long (including bail,) 18.8mm wide, 5.5mm deep. Chain: 18” long (has adjusts to be closed for 16” and 17” lengths.)
